Textile history online PDF Print E-mail
Anyone who wants to take a close look at the rich history of the textile workers, can now turn to three new series of digital sources.

De Vlasbewerker (The Flaxworker) was the journal of the socialist association of flaxworkers of Ghent. It was first being published in 1869 by Karel Hannick and Karel Beerblock.

De Textielarbeider (The Textile Worker) was the journal of the Belgian Textile Workers Union (TACB), the socialist trade union for workers in the textile industry.

The TACB minutes are the core of the (strongly shattered) records of the Belgian Textile Workers Union. They are especially relevant for resarch on the difficult process of centralisation within the union.
